Location: Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary
For this farm project in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary, solar PV offered a practical way to reduce reliance on grid electricity and support the long-term running costs of a working agricultural site. Farms can have significant energy demands across daily operations, making on-site solar generation a strong fit for businesses looking to improve energy efficiency and gain more control over future electricity costs.
We designed and installed a 53.8kWp solar PV system using 117 Jinko 460W panels, supported by 3-phase Solis inverters. The system was also paired with a large Dyness battery system, allowing more of the solar energy generated on-site to be stored and used when needed, rather than relying solely on daytime generation.
With an estimated annual yield of 42,853 kWh, this installation gives the farm a strong foundation for lower grid dependence, improved energy resilience, and more sustainable day-to-day operations. Supported through the Non-Domestic Grant, the project demonstrates how agricultural businesses in Tipperary can use solar PV and battery storage to make a meaningful long-term investment in energy independence.
