SEAI Domestic Solar PV Grants

Residential Solar PV Grants Ireland | Get Funding for Your Home Solar

Are you an Irish homeowner looking to embrace clean energy, significantly reduce your electricity bills, and make a positive environmental impact? The Solar PV Grant in Ireland provides a fantastic opportunity, offering direct financial support for installing solar PV panels and battery energy storage systems on your home. With Munster Solar, your trusted solar panel installers, navigating this process is straightforward and rewarding.

About the Solar PV Grant for Homes

Operating under the Microgeneration Support Scheme and funded through SEAI, the Residential Solar PV Grant is designed to help homeowners generate their own renewable electricity. Beyond the financial aid, this grant brings real benefits to your home’s energy future: significantly reducing electricity costs, enjoying greater energy independence, boosting your home’s sustainability, and potentially adding value to your property.

(These are general figures from SEAI. Always check the official SEAI website for the latest details and full rules.)

How Much Grant Funding Can You Receive?

The grant amount you’ll get depends on the standard output of your solar PV system, with a maximum grant value of €1,800 (for applications completed after January 1st, 2025). To give you an idea, you can receive €700 per kWp for systems up to 2kWp, and then €200 for every additional kWp up to 4kWp. For example, a 2kWp solar system could get you around €1,400, a 3kWp system about €1,600, and a 4kWp system could qualify for the maximum €1,800.

Who Can Apply for This Grant?

This grant is widely available to homeowners across Ireland, including private landlords. To be eligible, your home must have been built and occupied on or before December 31st, 2020, and should not have received any previous funding for Solar PV at its current MPRN (Meter Point Reference Number).

Your Simple Steps to Solar & Grants with Munster Solar

Making your home solar-powered with a government grant might sound complicated, but at Munster Solar, we make it easy. As a Registered SEAI Solar PV Company in Ireland, we’re here to guide you every step of the way, right from the start to the finish.

Expert Consultation & Tailored Quote

We begin by assessing your home’s unique energy needs and designing the perfect solar PV system for your roof. We then provide you with a clear, competitive quote specifically for your property.

Grant Application
Guidance

We’ll guide you on how to prepare and submit your online SEAI grant application, ensuring you have all the necessary information. Remember, it’s crucial to wait for your ‘Letter of Offer’ (valid for eight months) before any work begins on your home.

ESB Networks Approval Management

Your Munster Solar installer will manage the essential application process to ESB Networks for connecting your new home solar PV system to the electricity grid. This step typically takes about 4-6 weeks for approval.

Professional Solar Installation

Once ESB Networks approves your connection, our certified team will expertly install your solar PV system on your home. We ensure the work is completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to your daily life.

Documentation & Claim Advice

After your system is installed and your post-works BER is complete (homeowner’s responsibility), we provide all required installation documentation. We’ll then advise you on the final steps for submitting your grant claim to SEAI electronically.

Ongoing Support & Maintenance

We’re not just here for the install. If you ever have a question or need a hand, we’re only a call away. We stand by our work and are proud to offer continued support long after the panels are up.
